In this new entry I am going to talk about one aspect quite interesting for me: how maths can be taught through manipulative materials and games.
First of all, I am going to talk about some board games that all of can have in our class in the school. Because theses games encourage students to learn maths in a playful and funny way. At the same time, board game develop other skills such as; cooperative work, fair play, culture knowledge…
Now, I am going to list several games that I consider to be interesting and good for kids of all the ages.
Extrapiko --> strategy planning

Now, I am going to list several games that I consider to be interesting and good for kids of all the ages.
Alto voltaje --> mental calculations
Math dice --> mathematical operations
Extrapiko --> strategy planning
Robot turtles --> programming
As you can see with these games we can work several skill that are very important in nowadays society.
At the same time, we can make that our students learn other skills that are not well teach in the school for example programming.
We can make that the school make a programming course for the students learning on programming. For example, in my home town there is an academy that teach programming for students of all the ages.
We can encourage our students to be part of experiences like this, which is very good for their knowledge.
Finally, I think that we can introduce in class the use of manipulative materials, in order to make the lesson more understandable.
Through manipulative materials we can work all the aspects of the curriculum.
Now, I am going to post some pictures of materials that we can use.
We can adapt all the materials for all the ages and for all students' needs. I believe that this resources are very helpful because sometimes students do not understand the abstract aspects of maths and in this way the can understand the concepts through a visual way.
